It’s been about one week since I’ve been back in the City of Brotherly Love, and I’m already itching to take

[dis]ABLE back out on the road. We had a great Abilities Expo in Chicago, where we were excited to meet representatives from cool companies like ABL Denim, NuMotion, Frill-Ability, and many more. Oddly enough, on our last night in Chicago, I was denied alcohol despite being completely sober and having valid ID. We got the whole thing on camera, and while it was shocking and disappointing, it wasn’t enough to spoil our trip. It just shows [dis]ABLE has more work to do.

One of the coolest things I saw at the Expo!

From Chi-Town, we drove to Kansas City, which we’d learn is the best kept secret in America. The Cure SMA Conference was not only enlightening as we learned about some of the research being done to cure and/or slow the disease, but was also a great opportunity to connect with other adults with SMA like myself. At night, we thought it’d be rude to not find out what the nightlife had to offer us, so we spent some time at the Power and Light District. Needless to say, I’d love to go back!

And then, to top off an already amazing trip, we received an email just as we were about to embark on our 18 hour drive home from Kansas City. WE REACHED OUR KICKSTARTER GOAL! We couldn’t be more grateful for the outpouring of support we’ve received from our GLOBAL community of supporters. As soon as the campaign is over, we are excited to get everyone their orders and to spread our reach internationally as we have several backers overseas. If you haven’t had the chance to make a pledge yet, you can visit our Kickstarter page to snag a deal on some gear. There are still THREE DAYS LEFT! We appreciate everyone’s ongoing support, and our journey continued this week with an interview on WFMZ! Stay tuned as the story continues!
