In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I’d like to give thanks for a few of the many blessings that have come

[dis]ABLE’s way in 2015. This list is definitely not all-inclusive, but here goes the top 5 (I can think of at the moment):

By the end of June, I was extremely happy we reached our Kickstarter goal! In addition to exceeding our funding goal, the diversity of individuals from all over the world who backed this project is very motivating. Thank you to all of you who backed our project!

Second, we’ve disabled the limit of our reach by traveling to new geographies and increasing our media coverage. This year alone we spread our message to New York, Boston, Chicago, and to the best kept secret in America, Kansas City. Each adventure includes memories and people I will never forget, and I’m excited to spread the message further in the coming year!

Third, we are very proud we were able to sponsor several events supporting people with disabilities including the 25th anniversary celebration of the Americans with Disabilities Act. We were also lucky enough to be able to help produce the event t-shirts for the anniversary celebration. The event was attended by thousands and had special guest appearances such as Senator Harkin, author of the ADA. We look forward to more exciting sponsorship opportunities in the near future as well!

Fourth, I’m very thankful for all of the guest bloggers who have shared their story. My favorite part of [dis]ABLE is that I, myself, am constantly inspired by the research I do, the people I meet, and the stories I hear/read. That’s what this brand is all about: the many people who are disabling their limits and conquering their goals each and every day. If there’s one thing I want people to take away from this post it’s that this brand is about all of our stories combined, not just my own.

Lastly, I want to thank each and every one of you who have supported [dis]ABLE. Whether it’s been by liking a picture, sharing a post, or purchasing some of our high-quality, comfortable apparel, my hope is that with each impression this brand makes we are slowly but surely chipping away at the stigma attached to disability. And I hope this is the case not so people with disabilities have some kind of advantage or upper-hand, but so they can have a clean slate clear of limited expectations and false assumptions. And, on the flip side, I hope when people come into contact with [dis]ABLE they think it’s actually a cool brand.

That wraps the top five blessings for [dis]ABLE in 2015. On a side note, I’m also super grateful for all the new emojis on the iPhone, hence the featured image. I appreciate it all!!!
